Linda Naylor Kavanagh
Linda Naylor Kavanagh, 76, of Youngwood passed away on Sunday November 18, 2018 at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. She was born November 9, 1942 in Greensburg to the late William J. and Gilda "Jean" Colonna Naylor.
While a senior in high school, Linda underwent a traumatic brain surgery but went on to graduate from West Virginia University with a degree in Sociology, class of 1966. It was one of her proudest accomplishments. She then went on to dedicate her life and work to support and avocate for others with brain injuries, mental illness and developmental disabilities. Her passion for helping others was unwavering even though she dealt with many struggles of her own throughout her life. Linda was a member of the Westmoreland County Community Support Program and the Brain Injury Council of Western PA. She enjoyed sports, particulary the Pirates, Steelers and WVU football.
Linda was preceded in death by her, sister in law Mary Driscoll Naylor and her niece Christine Naylor Nelson. She is survived by her brothers William R. Naylor of New Stanton, and Gary Naylor and wife Susan of Youngwood, nieces Catherine Naylor Barton of Acme, PA, Alexis Orellana (Edwin) of Boston MA, nephews William C. Naylor of Sophia NC, and Jordan Naylor of Houston TX.
Friends will be received at the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc Youngwood Tuesday November 20 from 4 pm to 8 pm. There will be a Funeral Mass 10 am November 21 at Holy Cross Church, Youngwood with Father Paul A. Lisik officiating. Interment to follow at St Clair Cemetery
