Alice A (Gannon) Theis

Alice A Theis, 102, of New Stanton, passed away on Thursday October 5, 2023. She was born on November 20, 1920, in South Greensburg, the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (McGough) Gannon. Alice was Catholic by faith and was a member of Holy Cross Church, where she was also involved with the Ladies Guild. She was also a member the New Stanton Senior Citizens group, the Card Club, the New Stanton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Alice always enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She was the beloved matriarch of the family. She is survived by her loving children, Joan Bowman, and husband, James, of New Stanton, Jane Young, and husband, Dennis, of Indialantic, FL., James Theis, of New Stanton, Joseph Theis, and wife, Mary Jane, of New Stanton and Janet Geshinsky of Greensburg; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Bowman, and wife, Lisa, of State College, Michael Young, of Youngwood, Kristen Harris, and husband, Jim, of Pittsburgh, Heather Cutway, and husband Justin, of Macon, GA., Edward Geshinsky, and fiancé Cristal, of Greensburg and Matthew Geshinsky of Acme. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Payton, Derek and Gracie. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Theis; her brothers, Thomas Gannon and Ted Gannon; and her sister, Josephine "Dolly" Jamison. A visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 4-7 PM, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 9, at 1:30 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Saint John the Baptist Cemetery, Scottdale.
