Anna E (Wise) Carnes

Anna E Carnes, 105, of Youngwood, passed away on Friday April 5, 2024. She was born on November 22, 1918, in New Stanton, the daughter of the late James and the Cora Mae (Miller) Wise. Anna was a member of the Church of Christ in Hempfield, a member of the Greensburg Senior Citizen Center and the Bullock Senior Center. She was also in one of the first original Nurse's Aide program for Westmoreland Hospital. Anna was a founding board member for the Youngwood Park & Pool. She enjoyed traveling well into the age of being in her 90's, with her friend Shirley. In her spare time, Anna enjoyed playing cards, golfing and bowling. Anna is survived by a number of her beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Carnes; her son, John Carnes; daughter-in-law, Janet Carnes; her brothers, Walter, Harry and Earl Wise, and her best friend, Shirley Clark. A visitation for remembrances of Anna will be held on Wednesday, April 10, from 2-4 pm, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood.
