Barbara D (Drop) Burtyk-Bonetti

Barbara D Burtyk-Bonetti, 79, of New Stanton, passed away on Thursday September 25, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1946, in Irwin, the daughter of the late Louis and Anne (Podufal) Drop. Prior to retirement, Barbara worked as a manager for Mackin Engineering in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed volunteering for ARC of Westmoreland County and at the New Stanton Fire department, where she helped at numerous fish fry's, bashes and other events. In past years, Barbara was very active in local politics. She worked for numerous state representatives and served as a council member for New Stanton Borough. Barbara was also a proud Breast Cancer survivor. She was a fighter and overcame any trial and tribulations that came before her. Barbara is survived by her loving son, Charlie L. Burtyk, and his wife, Bethany, of Pittsburgh; her beloved granddaughter, Addison; her close friends, who were also a part of her beloved family, Kimberly Petrovich and Lisa Dalton. Barbara is also survived by her dear friend and father of her son, Chuck R. Burtyk, of New Stanton. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her second husband, Peter L. Bonetti. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Sept. 29, from 5-8 PM, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 11 AM. in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Stanton Volunteer Fire Department.
