Charles L Frye

Charles L. “Chuck”, “Bud” Frye, formerly of Youngwood, passed away peacefully at home in White Stone, Virginia on May 8, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born in Old Stanton, Westmoreland County, PA in 1940 to IdaBell Chapman Frye and Clarence G. Frye, Sr. His brother, Clarence “Jack” preceded him in death in 2002. Chuck met the love of his life, Dolores Ann Katic Frye, and made her his wife in October of 1966. Dolores preceded him in death in February 2020. The two lovebirds spent 53 wonderful years together in Youngwood raising three children. Dawn Marie Frye-Ickes of White Stone, VA, Michael Anthony of Youngwood, PA, who preceded his parents in death in 2016. And Dustin (Mindy) of Aliquippa and granddaughter, Marleah. Chuck was blessed with an extended family that loved him and welcomed him into their lives, Sister-in-law, Mary (David) Geary of Burke, VA. Charming nephews, Devin Geary of Falls Church, VA and Brice (Molly) Geary of Gore, VA. Dale and Darcie Mensch were blessings to Chuck and Dawn as they cared for Chuck. Chuck spent over 40 years employed as a truck driver for Shuster’s Building Components in Irwin, PA. His dedication to Shuster’s was evident as he instilled a positive work ethic in his children. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Youngwood, PA. He moved to Virginia, living with his daughter to care for him in his elder years. Chuck’s personality led to meeting and growing relationships with many new people in Virginia, especially those he met and adored through Piankatank River Golf Club. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
