Charles "Charlie" Sistek, 95, of Mt Pleasant, passed away on Thursday January 13, 2022, in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born on March 26, 1926, in Mt Pleasant, the son of the late James and Barbara (Cabot) Sistek. Charlie was the owner/ operator of Sistek's Service Station which he started in 1949 and with the addition of a car wash in 1966. He continued the business for over 50 years. He was a pilot in the United States Army Air Force and a Veteran of World War II. In his younger days, he was an avid hunter for many years. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Mary Helen Fadrosh, with whom he spent the next 60 years before she passed away in 2011. He is survived by his son, Scott Sistek and his wife, Jane, of New Stanton; one granddaughter, Janelle Sistek of Morgantown, WV. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, William, James, Frank, Jospeh, Andrew, Richard and Robert; and his sisters, Rose Mahoney, Helen Dankulic and Mary Sibal. A visitation will be held from 11 am. - 1pm., with a Blessing Service to follow, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. Youngwood. Interment will follow in the St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Calumet.
