Dawn Jarocki, 67, of Land O’Lakes, FL (formerly of Greensburg, PA), passed away on March 22, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time she passed.
Dawn was born to the late David and Lois (Hummel) Brown, on July 10, 1954 in Glenolden, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Levittown in 1961 where Dawn graduated in 1972 from Woodrow Wilson High School. Dawn was an incredible athlete, excelling in field hockey and softball. In her senior year, Dawn won “The Ram Award”, given to the female athlete of the year. She received a scholarship to Lock Haven University and was inducted into the Bristol Township Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
At Lock Haven, Dawn met John Jarocki and married on July 12, 1975. They lived in Levittown for 11 years, then in Greensburg for 32 years before relocating to Land O’Lakes, Florida in 2017. Prior to retiring in 2010, Dawn worked for Bell of Pennsylvania/Verizon for 37 years.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lois, and a sister-in-law, Marchell Brown. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Jill Bokalders and her husband, Aleks, of Chicago; Tim Jarocki and his wife, Ashley, of Lutz, FL; and grandchildren, Emme, Kaleb, Madilyn, and Timothy John (TJ) Jr. She is also survived by her brothers, David Jr. (Denise) Brown, of Levittown, PA; Daniel (Sandy Carroll), of Lawrenceburg, TN; Martin (Lisa) Brown, of Philadelphia; sister, Amy (Michael) Porreca; mother-in-law, Irene (Schmitt) Jarocki, of Farrell, PA; in-laws, Mark (Nancy) Jarocki, of McKees Rocks, PA; Michael (Marina) Jarocki, of Valencia, CA; Terry (Kim) Jarocki, of Farmdale, OH; Lee J. Jarocki, of Eastlake, OH; 18 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
