Donald E Zajdel

Donald E. Zajdel, Sr., age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Altercare Summit Acres. He was born June 10, 1937, in Greensburg. Son of the late Albert and Violet Houck Zajdel. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He retired in 2001 as a press operator for the General Motors Stamping Plant in Parma and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #1005 in Parma. He was a member of the Caldwell Moose Lodge #221 and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Angie Lunn. Surviving are his children, Dianne C. Engelhart of Cambridge, Donald E. (Renee) Zajdel Jr. of Wakeman, and Elizabeth “Beth” Zajdel (Mary Davis) of Cleveland; one sister, Delores Johnston of North Carolina; one brother, Albert Zajdel of Pennsylvania; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 5, from 11AM-1PM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home, 101 S. 4th Street, Youngwood, with a funeral service will follow. Interment will follow in the Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Greensburg.
