Dora C (Compton) Pettyjohn

Dora C Pettyjohn, 98, of Youngwood, passed away on Tuesday August 31, 2021 She was born on Tuesday December 5, 1922 in Custer, South Dakota, the daughter of the late John and Edra (Hanson) Compton. Dora was raised Methodist by faith. She retired as a machinist, but most importantly, she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She is survived by her stepson, Brian Pettyjohn of Largo, FL.; her stepdaughter, Deborah Sue Swank of Latrobe; her son, John Pettyjohn (Karen) of Youngwood and he daughter Nancy Louise Kelly (John) of Sykesville. Dora is also survived by her five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her brother Robert Compton of Sun City, CA. In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Eugene Pettyjohn; her sisters, Thelma, Vera and Larella. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3rd, from 4-7 PM. in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. Youngwood.
