Edward "Butch" Fleck, 81, of Youngwood, passed away on Monday May 27, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 12, 1942, in Greensburg, the son of the late Edward and Anna (Filicky) Fleck. Butch was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing out at Norvelt and the former Valley Green course. He also enjoyed spending time at camp in Elk County. He was a member and an usher at Holy Cross Church in Youngwood. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis (Mignogna) Fleck; his son, Brian Fleck and Christy Gregory, of Hempfield Twp.; his grandchildren, Madison Fleck, of Hempfield Twp. and Nathan Fleck, of Charlotte, NC.; his great grandson, Colter Nelson, who was the light of his life. Butch is also survived by his siblings, James Fleck, and his wife, Maureen, of Greensburg, and Cheryl Helman, and her husband, Bill, of Youngwood. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Byerly of Latrobe, and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Fleck. A memorial service to celebrate Butch's life will be held on Friday, May 31, at 11 AM, in Holy Cross Church, 711 Depot Street, Youngwood. The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude to Bridges Hospice for their exceptional care for the past 10 months.
