Elizabeth "Betty" (Staryarsky) Sterba

Elizabeth "Betty" Sterba, 94, of Hunker, passed away on Thursday September 14, 2023. She was born on May 20, 1929, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late Pete and Helen (Koval) Staryarsky. Betty was a member of St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Greensburg. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos and camping. When she was home, Betty enjoyed crocheting, cooking, listening to music and enjoying her sweets. She is survived by her children, J. Randall Sterba, and wife, Jill, of Hunker and Karen Sterba-Miller of Manassas, Va.; her granddaughter, Miranda Kettren and husband, Justin; great granddaughter, Charlie; her cat, Peppy, and extended family. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Sterba; her brother, Joseph; her sisters, Mary, Susan, Ann, Helen, Veronica, Sophie, Katherine and Margaret. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc., 101 S. 4th Street, Youngwood. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 10:30 AM, at the St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 624 E. Pittsburgh Street, Greensburg. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
