Frances R (Knizner) Stairs

Frances R. Stairs, 89, of Latrobe, formerly of Foxtown, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022. She was born May 22, 1932, in Youngwood, the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Ruman) Knizner. Frances was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Youngwood, and was a part of the womans of the church group. She was a member of Ridge Runners Trailer Club and the Good Sam Trailer Club. She is survived by her children, Terry Stairs and wife, Deborah, of Latrobe, Rita Flanders and husband, Norman, of North Clarendon, Vt., and Patrick Stairs and wife, Maryanne, of Greenbush, Vt. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Mitrik, of Youngwood. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell Stairs; her son, Thomas Stairs; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; and her brothers, James, John and Joe Knizner. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at C. RICHARD MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood, PA 15697. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 711 Depot St., Youngwood, PA 15697. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
