Homer W Myers, 104, of New Stanton, went home to his Lord and Savior, on Sunday January 2, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1917, in Youngwood, the son of the late William Albert and Eva (Beal) Myers. Homer was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Naomi Myers on Dec. 31, 2002. He retired from his position as supervisor of the repair department at Robertshaw Controls on March 11, 1975. He has belonged to the Robertshaw Retirees since his retirement. He was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant for over 30 years. He was a World War II Veteran, with the 10th Air Force- serving in the China, Burma and India Theaters. He belonged to the Senior Citizens of New Stanton, Mount Pleasant Senior Citizen Center, Bullskin Township Senior Center and the 50+ Club at his church. Homer had many interests. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers for many seasons and was equally an avid golfer. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Donald and Glenn Myers. Homer is survived by a host of friends and family who will miss him dearly; his nieces, Cindy Wagner of Knoxville, TN., Shyrel (David) Krieger of Alverton, Joanne Dillinger of Scottdale and Marjorie (Charles) Myers of Ligonier; his nephews, Charles Myers of Ligonier, and Glenn Myers of Myrtle Beach, SC. While Homer was not blessed with children, he was a "second father" to his longtime and great friends, Bobby and Coralee Ansell of Mount Pleasant. A visitation will be held from 2-7pm, on Friday, Dec. 7, in the C. Richard McCauley Fuenral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. Youngwood. Services will be held at 10am, Saturday, Dec. 8. in the funeral home with Pastor Terry V. Murray & Pastor Robert H. Bixel officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his memory to Pennsville Baptist Church in Scottdale.
