Janice L. (Rain) Brown, 85, of Armbrust, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, July 7, 2022. She was born March 6, 1937, the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" (Geiger) Rain from Paintertown. Jan was a long-time attender of Armbrust Wesleyan Church, where she served faithfully on the memorial committee, as a bible school craft teacher and treasurer of her Sunday school class. In addition to serving at church and attending the Joy Fellowship Bible study, she also enjoyed quilting, making crafts of all kinds and working the elections at Weavers Old Stand precinct, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling them with their favorite foods. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Darryl T. Brown; her three children, Darla Dlugos, of Latrobe, Dawn Brown, of Hempfield Township, and Darryl T. Brown Jr., of Hempfield Township; two grandchildren, Jacob A. (Laura) Dlugos and Jenna L. Dlugos, of Latrobe; four beloved great-grandchildren, Max, Mason, Jackson and Adalee Dlugos, for whom she always made sure the candy dish was always full. Jan is also survived by her brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Rain, of Irwin; sister-in-law, Lourinda Rubright, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother-in-law, Vincent Brown, of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10, in the C. RICHARD MCCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., 101 S. Fourth St., Youngwood, PA 15697. Additional visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, with a service to follow in the Armbrust Wesleyan Church, 7790 Route 819, Hunker, PA 15639. Interment will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Armbrust Wesleyan Christian Academy.
