John was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired as a truck driver from Super Valu. He was a member of Alpha Ministries in Jeannette where he served in their music ministry. John officiated numerous weddings and funerals. He prided himself in lending a hand to others in their time of need. In his free time, John enjoyed attending and performing at Bluegrass music festivals. He is survived by his children: John Moore II and wife, Shannon, of Youngwood; Elizabeth McClure and her ex-husband, Eric, of Muncy; and Jesse Moore and wife, Tessa, of Selinsgrove; and five grandchildren: Hallie Jane, Brennen Edward, Lydia Grace, Evelyn Faith, and Silas Alexander. John is also survived by his sisters, Karen Holsopple, of Greensburg, and Donna Holsopple, of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by siblings, Bernice Pickens, Gloria Moore, Michael Moore, his brothers-in-law Donald Holsopple and Ronald, as well as his ex-wife, Cora (Rohrbacher) Moore. A memorial service will be held on Feb. 18, at 2 PM at the Youngwood Fire Hall with Military Honors accorded by the Armbrust Veterans Association. John wished for his friends and family to gather, tell stories, and play music together in remembrance of him. Please bring an instrument and share your gift with John’s extended family as they pay tribute and celebrate his life.
