John L Trout

John L Trout, 71, of New Stanton, passed away on Wednesday March 5, 2025. He was born on September 25, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late John M. and Frances (Menhorn) Trout. Prior to retirement, John worked for Elliot Company. He loved to spend time at his fishing camp on Lake Erie and enjoyed fishing for walleyes, steelhead and trout. He was an excellent bowler and was a part of the Westmoreland Sports Bowling League, where he was captain of The Steelhead Team. John also enjoyed being a part of the Elliot Bowling and Golf Leagues and was a social member of the VFW Post #211 in Youngwood. No matter where he was at or what he was doing, John enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and numerous friends. He was loved by all who met him, and his flame will burn eternally. John is survived by his loving, devoted wife and dance partner of 51 years, whom he shared true love and many blessings in life with, Jennifer (Regina) Trout; his nephews and niece, who he loved like they were his own, Jeffrey Stoner, and his wife Kimmy, of Greensburg, James Simpson, and his wife, Angie, of Shelocta, Joel Regina, and his wife, Jessica, of Youngwood, Sean Regina, and his wife, Julie, of Youngwood, Casey Regina, and his wife, Mary, of Grapeville, and Laura Harrer, of Youngwood; his great nephews, Logan (Abby), Zachary, Nathan, Sean, Isaac, Elijah and Noah; his great-nieces, Alexis and Eva. John is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Barbara Trout, of New Stanton, and Beverly Simpson, of Greensburg, and his brother-in-law, Joel Regina, and his wife Pam, of Youngwood. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Stoner and his brother, James Trout. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 10, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, from 10-11 AM, with a funeral service to follow, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Saint Paul Seanor Cemetery in New Stanton.
