Judith Y (Newhouse) Johnson

Judith Y Johnson, 79, of New Stanton, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2022. She was born on October 20, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Ryan) Newhouse. Judith retired as a teachers aid from the Hempfield Area School District. She was also a member of the Christian Missionary Aliance. She is survived by her children, Michael Edwards (Debrah), of Youngwood, Mark Edwards (Lisa), of Mout Pleasant, Greg Edwards (Michelle), of Hunker, Robert Edwards (Kimberly), of Youngwood, Terry Edwards of Mount Pleasant and Susan Laymen (James), of Ruffsdale; her 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Leah Copeman (Richard), of Irwin and her half-brother, William Newhouse (Janice), of Stowe, OH. Judith is also survived by her beloved companion, her cat Miss Kitty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Johnson, her stepfather, Carl Simons and her stepmother, Yvonne Newhouse. Her sister, Sandra McVicker and a grandson, Mark Edwards Jr. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, from 4-7 p.m., in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
