Kathleen M (Colbert) Gilmore

Kathleen Gilmore, age 96, formerly of Hunker, and the past six years, The Villages, Florida, passed away on January 12, 2022.  She was born in Tarrs. God relieved Kathleen from her duties here on earth. He called her home and took away her physical pain. She now has a new pain free body and enjoying her reward in Heaven. Kathleen touched many people with her love, caring, amazing sense of humor and beautiful smile. She is survived by niece and primary caregiver, Cathy (Baker) Johnson, nephew Jack Baker, and niece Judy (Baker) Fitzgerald all from The Villages, Florida. Many cousins as well in Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, Indiana, South Carolina, and Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband William, daughter Joyce, son Billy, sister Betty (Colbert) Baker and many others. She will be remembered for her time spent with the Senior Citizens of Hunker and the Hunker Firemen Women’s Auxiliary.  She moved to Florida in 2016 and spent many hours at the New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages where she attended and also helped with the bulletins every week.  She loved to be on the go and spend time with family and friends. She was a terrific cook and loved to bake in earlier years. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Tarrs.  She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Bill, in the Mt. Lebanon cemetery adjacent to the church. In memory of Kathleen, contributions may be made to the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church where she attended for 90 years.
