Leona M (Stepansky) Bilik

Leona M Bilik, 84, of Norvelt, passed away on Saturday August 27, 2022. She was born on January 17, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late Leo and Verna (Gorecki) Stepansky.  Leona was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always enjoyed being with her family. Leona loved all animals, Polka dancing, admiring the flowers and reminiscing another time through her photographs. She was Catholic by faith and was a member of the St. Florian Catholic Church in United. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Powerex in Youngwood. Leona is survived by her loving children, William Bilik Jr., of Latrobe, Leanne Phillips, and husband, Greg, of Youngwood and Robert Bilik, of Norvelt; her beloved grandchildren, Michael Robert Bilik, Julia Leanne Bilik and Brandon Michael Phillips. She is also survived by her sister, Cecilia Lewandowski, and husband, Henry, of McClure, her brother, Thomas Stepansky, of Mount Pleasant and her numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William Bilik; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Marlene Szczepanski; sister-in-law, Margaret (Peggy) Stepansky; niece, Dianna Stepansky and nephews, John Jr. and David Szczepanski. A visitation will be held on Wed. Aug. 31, from 2-7 PM, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. Youngwood. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 11 AM in the St. Florian Parish 4263 Route 981, Mount Pleasant, with Father John Sedlak officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Action for Animals Humane Society, PO Box 814, Latrobe, Pa. 15650 or to Caring Hospice of Monroeville, 118 Fox Plan Road Suite #1, Monroeville, Pa. 15146. The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Caring Hospice of Monroeville and all the wonderful home health aides for all of their excellent care they provided to Leona over the years.
