Linda D (Danner) Beehner

Linda D. Beehner, 78, of Weatherwood Manor in Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2023, in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. It was unexpected and was a result of a fall. She was born on August 17, 1944, in Youngwood, the daughter of the late Wade and Gertrude (MacDonald) Danner. Linda enjoyed life to the fullest. Once you became a friend of Linda, you became a lifelong friend, and she would help you anyway she could. Linda's careers in the early adult years included working at McMillen Book Publishers, owning and operating a craft store in Youngwood and driving a school bus for Hempfield School District. In those same years, she also coached a girls softball team in Youngwood which included coaching in the girls in a Women's World Softball Tournament in Virginia. Linda started her career with the United States Post Office as a mail clerk in Irwin in 1984. During her 21 years of service, she advanced to Postmaster and worked in that capacity in various Crabtree, Normalville, Acme and lastly retiring from the Export Post Office in 2005.Linda was an avid reader. In her first year of retirement, she read 322 books. She had many different interests including mastering Word Puzzles, Word Searches and enjoying shooting trap and skeet. She spent her early retirement years traveling to the National Parks and Casinos throughout the United States. Her favorite game was Poker-Texas Hold'em. In later years, her fondest memories were that of the Alaska Cruise and the beautiful and amazing sites in Alaska and she hoped to visit there once more. Linda was a member of the Church of Christ in Southwest Greensburg and the U.P.M.A and N.A.R.F.E.A organizations. Linda is survived by her son, Charles Beehner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth-lyn Pisko, her brother, George Danner and her Infant sister, Sandra Danner. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 10-11 AM with a memorial service to follow, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. Inurnment will follow in the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery State Route 31, Tarrs. The family would like to thank the staff at Weatherwood Manor for all of their care and compassion they gave to Linda.
