Mary Jane (Rabe) Helfrich

Mary Jane Helfrich, 85, of New Stanton, formerly of Donora, passed away on Tuesday January 19, 2021. She was born on August 19, 1935 in Donora, the daughter of the late James and Eliza (Gillingham) Rabe. Mary Jane was member of First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. She was a member of the former New Stanton-Youngwood Rotary. Mary Jane retired as a Registered Nurse. She started the Caregivers of Western Pa where she held the title of CEO. She was proud to be a Mill Nurse for US Steel for many years. She is survived by her loving son, Christopher R. Helfrich and wife, Melanie, of Greensburg; her beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel J. and Noah C. Helfrich; her nephew-in-law Robert Menzler; her great nephews and great niece, James, Phillip, Robert, Tyler and Megan. Mary Jane is also survived by a number of great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brother, James A. Rabe and her nieces, Mary Beth Menzler and Denise Fronzaglio and her husband James. Services are private.
