Phyllis M Burkholder, 91, of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday May 16, 2024. She was born on May 18, 1932, in New Stanton, the daughter of the late Walter and Verna (Miller) Forsythe. Phyllis was known as the "Mother" of her neighborhood and was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg. She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Burkholder; her children, Barbara McMillen, of Greensburg, David Burkholder, of Greensburg and Carol Pittavino (Rodney), of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Shawn, Adam, Matthew and Alex; her step grandchildren, Michael Riggle (Tammie) and Kelly Miller (Kurt) and her eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sons, Raymond and Garry Burkholder, her sisters, Sandra Newcomer and Donna Harrold and her son-in-law, Jeffery McMillen. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 20, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from 10-11 am, with a funeral service to follow, in the First Baptist Church, 1228 Brinkerton Road, Greensburg. Interment will be held in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church.
