R. Kevin McKelvey

Robert Kevin McKelvey, 69, of Ruffs Dale, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024. He was born on October 6, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Hodge) McKelvey. Kevin was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, class of 1972. He was a proud US Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He retired after many years as a manager for Specialty Seal in Latrobe. He was also a member of New Life Tabernacle in New Stanton. Kevin loved all animals, especially his dogs and his kitties. He was always there to help any family member or friend with anything they needed. Kevin will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his sister, Linda Michaels, and her husband, Robert; and his sister, Kim McKelvey (John Woodward), of Ruffs Dale. Kevin is also survived by his beloved numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheryl Yoder Hinds. Services will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
