Robert "Bob" Lincoln Altman, 97, of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on June 13, 1928, in Youngwood, he was the son of Thomas and Margaret Brown Altman. Bob will be remembered for his deep faith, good humor, and unwavering devotion to his family. Bob married the love of his life, Catherine "Kate" Louise Altman (née Goodlin), in 1949, and together they shared 77 years of marriage, raising their family in Mt. Pleasant. Kate preceded him in death in October 2025, and their children take comfort in knowing they are together again. Bob served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard during the Korean War. After, Bob spent more than 25 years working for Bell Telephone as a business telephone systems services manager, where he was known for his integrity, quiet strength, and willingness to help others. After retiring, he opened Altman Telephone Service, Inc., which he grew and managed for 28 years, delighting customers with his reliability, integrity, and good-natured service. Bob was an avid gardener, and Kate enjoyed managing his bounty. Bob and Kate both enjoyed traveling and took several trips in the United States and abroad, culminating in an around‑the‑world tour in their 70s. Their greatest joy was time with their children and grandchildren, many of whom accompanied them on trips and all of whom enjoyed the company of their cousins on the beautiful estate that Bob and Kate built. Bob and Kate also enjoyed fellowship in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church and Armbrust Wesleyan Church, where they made many lifetime friends. Bob and Kate's love of children spilled over to their children and grandchildren. His five surviving children, Thomas Altman (married to Roberta Altman), Susan Skovira (married to Daniel Skovira), Jane Altman, Meg Schenkman, and Virginia Altman, blessed them with seven grandchildren; 24 great‑grandchildren; and three great‑great‑grandchildren. Bob and Kate were preceded in death by their infant son, Robert Clifton. Bob will be interred following a private family memorial. Cards may be sent to the Altman family, 7090 Route 819, Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Bob's greatest desire was that all those he loves would one day join him and Kate in the presence of Jesus.
