Samuel R Wineman, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of Wallingford, Pa., passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1933, in Greensburg, the son of the late J. Paul and Evelyn (Sanner) Wineman. Mr. Wineman was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church in Greensburg, a graduate of the former Youngwood High School, Class of 1951 and a graduate of Penn State in 1960. He was also a member of the Youngwood Lions Club, the American Legion and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 211 in Youngwood. Mr. Wineman is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Bliven) Wineman; his children, Michael Wineman, of Sharpsburg, GA., Samuel Richard Wineman II and wife, Dorothy, of Long Beach, CA., David Wineman, of Vail, CO. and Kelly Wineman, of Greensburg; his beloved six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sue McConnell, of Riverside, CA.; his two brothers, J. Fred Wineman, and wife, Ann, of Greensburg and Robert Wineman, and wife, Toni, of Hampton, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wineman was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Wineman and his sister, Jane Gonderman. A Celebration of Samuels life will be held on Saturday, May 25, at 11 am, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A graveside service will follow in the Youngwood Cemetery.
