Shirley A. Freidhof, 87, of Queen Creek, AZ, formerly of Youngwood, PA died on, January 25, 2025. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Dudley, PA. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Conley) Hydock. Shirley was a former member of Holy Cross Church in Youngwood, a volunteer for the Salvation Army, Westmoreland Manor, and the New Stanton Food Pantry. She was also a former member of the Hempfield Garden Club. Everyone in Youngwood knew Shirley. She loved spending time talking with her many friends as she cut and styled their hair in her beauty shop or worked with them in the garden club. Her neighbors in Sherwood Circle and throughout Youngwood became her extended family. The beauty shop was always open – just call Shirley and she would make time for you. She will be missed by her family and her dear friends. Shirley is survived by her children, William “Skip” Freidhof, and his wife, Bernadette, of Summerville, SC., Gregory Freidhof, and his wife, Lisa M., of Queen Creek, AZ., and Lisa A. Freidhof, of Tucson, AZ; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Karen, Brett and his wife Daniela, and Brian and his partner Bridget; and 4 great grandchildren, Callahan, Madsen, Simon and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (Imy) Hydock, of Florida. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Freidhof, her sister, Helen Tagg and her brother, Michael Hydock. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 19, at 11 AM, in the Youngwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank.
