Susan J Kerr

Susan J. Kerr passed away at Newhaven Court at Lindwood on, Friday, April 21st.   She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Kerr and Emma S. Kerr and brother, Dave Kerr of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.  She was raised at the family residence on Stone Church Hill, outside Youngwood, and graduated from Hempfield Area High School in 1962. Susan was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received a graduate degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. She taught for many years in the Hempfield School District, finishing her career as an educator at Hempfield Area High School. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Susan loved sewing, cooking, travel, and, most of all, she loved teaching. She is survived by one brother: James Kerr of Troy, Illinois. Additionally, she is survived by one niece and three nephews. There will be a committal service at 11 am. on Tuesday, April 25, at the Chapel in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
