Tom Durishan, 71, of New Stanton, passed away on Aug. 2, 2024. He was born on July 31, 1953, in Latrobe, the son of the late Jack and Loretta Durishan. Tom was a graduate of Greensburg Central High School in 1971, and St. Vincent College in 1975. Upon graduation, Tom began his career in finance. working for Homemakers Loan and Chrysler Credit Corporation. In April 1983, Tom began a 35-year career in hospitality, retiring from Dave and Busters in 2018. Surviving is his wife of 38 years, Margie and his beloved dog, Suki. Also surviving are his brothers, Mark (Betty) of Charleston, SC, Dan of Wilmington, DE, Gerry of Hidden Valley; sisters, Julie (Bob Warner), of Surfside Beach, SC, and Jackie (Lou) Scavnicky, of Martinsburg, WV; and his numerous nieces and nephews. Tom wanted to make sure to thank Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, the Leukemia staff 7th floor and Dr. Robert Redner. Also thanked is the nursing staff (with special thanks to Kristen) at the Arnold Palmer Cancer Center in Greensburg, as well as the nursing staff at Frick Hospital short stay unit. Their care and concern for Tom was extraordinary. Per Tom's request, there will be no public visitation. All arrangements are private. Memorial contributions can be made to the Carmelite Monastery, 5206 Center Drive, Latrobe, PA. or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
