William T Hurst

William T Hurst, 76, of New Stanton, passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023. He was born on February 28, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Ultz) Hurst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Matthew E. Hurst, his brother, Dennis Hurst and his infant sister. William is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Hurst, of New Stanton; his children, William L. Hurst, and wife Patty, of New Stanton and Marsha Long, and husband Clint, of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Liam Hurst and Jacob Long. He is also survived by his siblings, Becky Ketchell, of Gibsonia, Ruth Bedard (Gary), of Howell, MI., Willis Hurst (Barbara), of Connellsville, Lois Bowers (Thomas), of Armbrust, Virginia Barrick (Michael), of Mt. Pleasant and Lucille Busch, of Mammoth. William retired from Hempfield Township Road Department, where he worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church in Tarrs, the Teamsters Local #30 and the Hempfield Hunt Club. William was a true family man. He always made sure his kids and grandchildren were always taken care of. His favorite place to spend time was at the family cabin. William enjoyed being in nature. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up the room. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wed, Feb. 8, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. A funeral service will be held on Thurs, Feb. 9 at 11 AM. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery.
